President Obama says thanks to pro-choice Americans for fighting every day to protect the reproductive rights of women and their families.
On the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we reaffirm its historic commitment to protect the health and reproductive freedom of women across this country and stand by its guiding principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters, and women should be able to make their own choices about their bodies and their health care. Today and every day, my Administration continues our efforts to reduce unintended pregnancies, support maternal and child health, and minimize the need for abortion. On this anniversary, we recommit ourselves to supporting women and families in the choices they make and redouble our efforts to promote safe and healthy communities.

Mitt Romney accused President Obama of winning young voters over with the “gift” of no-cost birth control.
Our mistake - we thought that was just President Obama understanding how important birth control is to women’s reproductive health and future.
We know, we know - a cheesy Cher song pun, but it’s very true nonetheless. Let’s not “Turn Back Time” for women’s reproductive rights.

Mitt Romney threatened to take away Obama’s no-cost birth control policy, which gives many women prescription birth control without a co-pay. His campaign says women don’t care about birth control – and that the election is about the economy.
That’s funny, Romney. It looks to us like no-cost birth control is a big economic issue.
